There is so much to say about the Uganda Mission Trip...I think I could almost write a whole book for a two week mission visit but....here is part of a report from Fran Hallgren our team leader. Please Pray for Uganda,
Holly Lambert
Summary Report by Fran HallgenUganda Aglow Transformation Team Team Leader Fran HallgrenNovember 1-15, 2008
Dear Co-Laborers in the Kingdom,
It is with extreme pleasure that I make this report to you. Trying to be as concise as possible, I have made an overview, some statistics, highlights from the team members, and testimonies from those we ministered alongside in Uganda. Personally, I have been involved in Aglow for many years, and have been fully active in my state of Alaska, both in lighthouse leadership and area team leadership. On our Area Team I am currently serving as VP of Leadership Development, where I teach Aglow fundamentals (among other things). When I began teaching our leadership about the Pillars of Aglow – Prayer and Evangelism, my spirit began to stir. I have been fully engaged in the ever-growing prayer movement...but where was the evangelistic thrust?
Then I heard Janet Mangum speak at International Conference and my spirit lept. I think I was #3 to sign up for that mission trip to Philippines! (I do want you to know, however, that the Northern Area Team in Alaska has been doing missions for the last few years in the Far North – Nome, Barrow, Kotzebue and Point Hope. When I speak at Aglows here and in the Lower 48 about missions, I am often met with “Great! But what are you doing locally?” My answer is always the same: No one needs to tell us how to be Aglow locally, or ask permission from HQ to do good deeds in our own backyards. And I then tell them what our 'Frozen Chosen' are doing up here!)
Anyway, I honestly have never had a “burning desire” to go to the Philippines, or Africa, or anywhere else for that matter. All I know is that I always desired to GO, and the destination was always secondary to the work needing to be done. I thank Aglow for giving us a place to fulfill this desire.
My thanks to Janet Mangum, Dir. of Aglow Evangelism, first for her inspiration, and then for her mentorship and trust in the Holy Spirit in me, to do this mission. This is a turning point in my life and I will be forever grateful.
My thanks also to Linda, who made herself available to me (and my many questions, this being my first time as team leader) even when she had other important matters to attend to; and also to Michelle and Sarah in Finance, for their patience in working through the gliche in finances.
My thanks to Jane and the entire board, for their willingness to grasp this vision. I know it is new, and will have some 'bugs' for a bit...but I see this as part of the great unveiling of part of “God's Secret Army” that Dutch Sheets, Chuck Pierce, Graham Cooke and others have been speaking of over the last few years. And I am honored and excited to be part of this!
My thanks to each and every Team member for their heart and their work, both before and during the mission, and their incredible unity in the Spirit; including Cheryl Erbes our intercessor prayer/news coordinator. And of course, all thanks and glory and honor be to God for all fruit of the mission. With that excitement, I submit the following report to you.
Fran Hallgren
Upon Arrival in Uganda:
We were picked up in vehicles and taken to a nice hotel in Kampala for the night (as we arrived near midnight). At breakfast, we led one of the hotel workers to the Lord, and were able to give her a Bible. Then we were driven to Kyenjojo...a several hour drive...and settled into a very nice hotel (which was still under construction, but the owner said it was done enough to keep us. There was no one else in the hotel and they provided a chef, a steward and a maid for our use. We had beds, bathrooms, lockable doors, and 3 flights of stairs to climb every time! But the food was good and our sleep sweet.)
KYENJOJO MINISTRY:Excerpts from a letter from Pastor Godfrey“Our conference in Kyenjojo was the first to bring together 427 church leaders (according to registration). One of the most significant things about the teaching was that every one of the women brought teachings that were needed by the leaders. “...The crusades had great results. The crusade manager report that over 370 people gave their lives to Christ. As you know we had a problem with the rain and electricity, but this did not stop souls coming to the Kingdom. “...From the prisons...the warden was so appreciative... “...through the radio we were able to reach 1.5 million people...amazing thing is that (days afterward) people continued calling the station (for prayer). Many were giving testimonies of how God had healed them and many other answered prayer requests. As a result, the owner of the radio station has offered us us chance to have (the) one hour program TWICE a week, and at the cheapest rate...I believe this is a miracle... “ (I) am so encouraged to know how my people benefited...” Pastor Godfrey

From Fran: . The Holy Spirit told me who to slot for the different ministry every single day! Amazing! (See Aglow backpack on my back in the picture? Loaded with Bible, Evangecube, hand sanitizer, bug repellant, anti-bacterial wipes, protein bar, etc.) . While some were teaching at the conference each day, the others on the team were taken to many schools, orphanages, hospital and jails, where they evangelized, prayed and encouraged all. Everyone had an opportunity to teach, testify, minister at schools/orphanages, hospitals, jails, and participate at the crusades. . Hospital: ministered to HIV patients (25), pregnant women (20) and waiting room (30), used Evangecubes, Judy gave personal testimony, and everyone was prayed for...many saying the salvation prayer. . Jail: (local) Evangecube and testimony to those awaiting sentencing. All prayed the salvation prayer and then were prayed over individually. . Prison: They cheered (for prison team Judy, Robin, Holly) here. Used Evangecube and personal testimonies. Most all the men (about 25) and 8 women said the salvation prayer. The men all got down on their knees in the mud for individual prayer. . Schools/Orphanages: We visited so many! Every place, the teachers gathered the children together in classes or groups, then we shared puppets, evangecubes, vitamins, with the children...and prayers and encouragement for those in charge. . Radio: Listenership is about 1.5 million. Testimony and then call-in prayer ministry. . Public: In particular, a woman was seen on the roadside, apparently in much pain and a look of desperation. Phyllis and Holly prayed for her healing, and she was healed on the spot...her eyes lighting up...pulse becoming normal. We had many opportunities to witness to people besides the arranged places. . Everywhere we handed out Bibles and the childrens' Jesus Books. . Pastor Godfrey and his team were very organized. The venue was suitable. The cooks were good and timely. The worship teams were wonderful. Budgeting was near perfect for this place. . We ministered in teaching approximately 6 hours each day at the Convention and then 2 hours at the Evangelistic Crusade each evening...except one rained out. . Topics taught at convention: God's Blueprint for Leadership, Tithing to Freedom, 11 Lies/ 11 Truths about Father God, Power of Words, Prophetic Declaration, and more . We encountered demonic manifestations in usual (for us) ways, as well as many with a spirit of divination. But nothing that interrupted the flow of any of the meetings. . The matter of getting our money out of the Uganda bank was met with much patience and the Lord's favor, as Pastor Godfrey had to tell the various people that they would have to wait to be paid. He was given much grace by all. . Without going into the wearisome details, I had to give $1400 of my $2000 emergency money to cover some of the bills because of the bank problem. (Bank corruption is the most likely cause of the money problem.) I see this as God's provision, that He told you all to send $2000 with me instead of the $600 I'd asked for. In the future, we shall carry monies with us. On November 8th we made the switch from working with Pastor Godfrey to working with Pastor Imelda Bwayo, the Uganda Aglow National Leader. . We left 3 team members at Entebbe to preach at church and share at Aglow meetings. The rest of us went on to Mbale. Donna, Holly and Phyllis (Sub-team A) rejoined us a couple of days later.
MBALE MINISTRY (Men, women and children!) .
Team members stayed at various pastor's homes...all of which were lovely, with running water and electricity (most of the time), flush toilets, and wonderful beds and food. We are thankful to Imelda and the Uganda National Board for our wonderful accommodations . We were divided into three sub-teams, covering three times as much area! . Churches: All team members preached at churches on Sunday, where many came forward receiving salvation as well as Baptism of the Holy Spirit, healing and deliverance. Attendance at the various churches ranged from 75 to 500. . We spoke at six Aglow meetings with attendance ranging from 60 to 250 . There were nearly as many men as women; children were not counted . One result from the Kabwangasi Aglow meeting was that they want to open 6 more Aglow chapters! (Because most don't have cars, they want chapters in key places that are easily walked to.). A thank-you circular from Kabwangasi Aglow/Pastor Mukisa is attached.. Several orphanages and schools were visited, “puppetized” and evangecubed, with many confessing the salvation prayer. (I think we have coined this word.) We distributed the Jesus books and vitamins everywhere we could. . Fay, Elise and I taught 2 ½ days of Worship Ministry teachings. The need is so great that we could barely scratch the surface. People would come to the house after dinner and want more, more, more. Sometimes we were up until midnight still teaching (with joy!). . The Bugema Orphanage (run by 3 widows, overseeing nearly 100 children) was most precious. . Wanale Summit: We went to the high place, had communion with Imelda and leaders, prayed, blew the shofar, and made prophetic declaration over Uganda. . On the way up and down this mountain, we “puppetized” the children on the roadside. At the top, as our Rooster puppet gathered the children with shouts of “a quagala Jesu!” (Jesus loves you), a group of children gathered 'round...I shouted to Elise to get her Evangecube, which she did, and led 5 girls to the Lord right there! . One disappointment, was that we did not schedule time to go to Safari Park to see some wild animals. . Our schedule was chock-full; though we did make time for everyone to rest every day, and some shopping on the last day. . The Uganda National Board held a 'Victory' dinner our last night, where they presented each of us with an African outfit, tailored for each one of us. . We presented both Imelda and Godfrey with one of our green, embroidered AGLOW Transformations Team Uganda shirts. . Team returned to USA on the 14th, minus Joy, who stayed to work with another ministry of hers. I would ask each of you reading this report to please continue reading. Each team member's highlights will give you the real flavor of the ministry there, as well as comments from Ugandan/Kenyan pastors. In closing, I bless you all for allowing us to take Aglow ministry, teaching, and moreover, the love of Jesus, to these remote places. If I had to describe the entire two weeks in one word the word would be
HUNGRY.
So spiritually HUNGRY! For encouragement, real, in-depth Bible teaching (we did a lot of hard Christian character teaching and worship ministry teaching, both spiritual and practical aspects). The children were HUNGRY for hope and joy. (One of the most blessed things to us, was making children smile. I got an email from the overseer of one of the schools we'd gone to. This school houses 12 orphaned girls, some rescued from sex slavery, HIV positive with HIV babies. He and his wife have a tiny place with tiny beds for all, and 6 very old desks with 6 very old sewing machines. They were teaching the girls to sew so that they could make some kind of living. He reports that the girls are still talking about our visit, and how each of them were prayed for and made to feel 'special'. Praise God!) And when this team met the HUNGER of the people wherever we went, the fruit was so very sweet! We loved working alongside Imelda and Aglow Uganda; and were blessed as well, to come alongside another transdenominational ministry with Pastor Godfrey (whose people would also like to see some Aglow chapters opened in their area!) Whether the places we ministered to were small or large, God's presence and favor were with us everywhere! Of course, we had communion and devotions every morning! . No one got sick. . Everyone got to minister in the area they were particularly gifted in; . And everyone got stretched in ministry, too, doing things outside their comfort zone. . We had wonderful unity on this team . We dealt with demonic deliverances, healings, salvations just as the Bible asks. . We encountered some interesting foods and facilities; but nothing that the women on this team couldn't handle. Most looked at these things as part of the adventure. Overall, this mission trip was amazing, full, blessed and challenging. I give all the glory to God for choosing this team, to the Holy Spirit for guiding and instructing us every day as to what to do, what to say, where to go. The Lord showed me a long time ago, that some (Christians) are called to be major organs in the Body of Christ, and some are called to be the smallest capillary that takes the blood of Jesus to the last cell on the little toe. I am honored to take the blood/salvation of Jesus to anywhere He calls. When I see you in person (Louisville, 2009---my home town!) I will show you the shoes the Lord had me buy when I was in the Philippines. The shoes have words on them, KING and KINGDOM...which is why I bought them. When I got back to my room, however, Holly discovered sentences on these shoes. The sentences said: They went on an expedition to Africa. Will you join us? (They = Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit) It was like the Holy Spirit personally asked me this question. This was months before this mission trip to Uganda was planned by Janet and you all. Oh, yes! God knew what He was doing, even before we knew. Thank you for hearing Him and trusting me.
Always “...aglow and burning with the Spirit...serving the Lord”
Respectfully submitted,
Fran Hallgren

I thank God for the great ministry and the transformation Spirit from the Lord that followed the Team as they ministered in the various places; ( See the attached program. The Lord was able to do wonders through the team. The evil one fought tooth and nail but we were more than conquerors in Christ Jesus.

Letter from Donna-----
When we arrived in Entebee with Martha and Obed, we had 60 Aglow women
waiting for us in the church. We taught them how to receive and minister
the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. We all prayed for them and 3 got delivered.
I felt the Spirit leading me to speak to just the Aglow Officers at
another time.
Pastor Moses and Martha were the Pastor of this church called Evergreen
Pastures Minintries International. I slept in their bedroom and Holly
and Phyllis slept next door at a neighbor who was a member of the church.
They both ministered to this family as well.
That evening Martha received a deliverance in their home before we went
to bed. The five of us also prayed for each other. To God be the glory.
Sunday, the next day I blew the Shofar after an explanation. Had
wonderful worship. The two Aglow women gave their testimony and I taught
on tithing at both services.
Over lunch on Sunday Pastor Moses and Martha expressed a desire to attend
a seminary. I suggested they make a recording of their singing as they
both have beautiful voices. This way they could make money for
themselves, their church and orphans. Seems they had already mad a
casssett.
They do this a lot in Africa. A person sings, hold a CD up and people
come to give you money and take a CD home or receive an order for one.
God has raised up might anointed voices in Africa. Some don't even have a
particularly good voice but anointed and they love the Lord.
In the afternoon we all spoke to the youth. Phyllis gave her testimony
and Holly did the E Cube. All three of us prayed for each one (about
20.) Three received a deliverance including the youth leader.
5:30 P.M. We had worship again. Phyllis spoke on the fruits of the
Spirit, Holly on the gifts of the Spirit and I did tithing again.
I suggested they exercise their gift and pray in the Spirit. They did
this a long time and I taught them to wait on the Lord as I felt He had
something to say to us. A young man Joseph said we were to ask of Him,
it was done etc. It really edified the group of maybe a 100.
Then Pastor Moses had a word that 6 people were going to be delivered.
They came forward for prayer. He had another word that someone was going
to be healed in 3 months. A lady come forth crying and this time we also
joined him in praying for her. She knew how to claim it. Pastor Moses
said later they were going to have a day of worship and now they know how
to do it.
Next day we went to the Comfort Home that Mary Lance Sisk helps with.
Holly and Phyllis did most of the puppets, making the bead necklaces,
feathers etc. We had communion and I did the explanation for that and
sang the Lord's prayer like I had done 2 years before when we had the
audience with the King that passed away a couple months ago.
Then the kids (50) sang and (20) did a special song for us in English.
While they were singing I kept hearing that they need to tour America and
make money for a new orphanage and for International Aglow. They were so
together and anointed with their Pastor singing with them. I mentioned
this to Pastor Moses and of course he agreed. What else could he do huh?
Later that day we met with the Aglow officers. Pastor Martha was the
President. She had about 20 people present in the neighbors home. (They
had just formed 4 month prior.) I explained about unity, duties briefly
of each office, how to pray and minister to the women such as with their
eyes open occasionally for spiritual discernment, get Bible
studies started, receiving the offering and how it is spent, getting men
advisors etc. We covered alot.
I asked the worship leader to lead us and again we waited on the Lord. I
knew Phyllis had a word (a word from the Lord) and I poked her.
After explaining that we need not have any fear and can learn to be comfortable in Aglow,
Phyllis came out with it (with what the Lord directed her to say).
She had only been in Aglow 2 years and had never spoken a
word (word from the Lord) before. When she said this later it really blessed the local Aglow. We don't have it all together either and are always learning. We all prayed for each officer.
There were two men present. Pastor Moses and the worship leaders
husband, Alex. He is the Associate Pastor at New Life Harvest Church in
Kampala. I asked him if he knew about Smithwiggleworth, and he did. I
felt led to tell him he would do what Smithwiggleworth had done!
This was about 8:30 or 9:00 P.M. and Pastor Moses said there were about
50 leaders waiting for us in the church. God said open your mouth and He
would fill it and He did! We encouraged them and believed God was going
to raise them up to Evangelize other nations.
We ended up praying for each one that came forth and they all did. The
anointing was so strong I got drunk (drunk in the Holy Spirit). After getting to my room I could
not raise off the bed without Holy Spirit laughter. Holly came to get me
to come and eat and I literally could not raise off the bed and she got a
dose also. God know what we need and how to restore.
The next day Pastor Moses and Martha took us to Embale to join the rest
of the team. That church was so oppressive compared to what we had just
left. As I began to pray in the Spirit I saw a small animal skull and a
bag of something in the rafters. I recognized that trick of omens etc.
Later Sister Imelda said that place had been a worship center of early
Indians.
From here you know the rest of the story.
Blessings,
Donna
